Ghanian actress and model Nana Akua Addo has been accused of cheating the Nigerian designer who sewed the dress she wore to the AMVCA.
A social media influencer, identified as Praise Oghre, alleged that Nana refused to give credit to the original maker of her dress and another Ghanaian stylist named Yoli Koomson. However, she disclosed that the dress’s original maker is a Nigerian designer.
Oghre said the designer, identified as Ezinne, was paid ₦400,000 after Nana asked her to choose between her payment for the dress or a tag on her social media post.
Sharing a screenshot of the post, by Ezinne. She wrote, “Not acknowledging Ezinne as the designer of that beautiful dress is fine by me, but giving credit to someone else is devilish.”

Meanwhile, a lot of Nigerians are reacting to the allegation with many demanding clarity about the situation.

Nana Ado’s response
The Ghanaian model wore the dress to the just-concluded Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards on Saturday, 11th May 2024. Her Instagram page also has videos of her in the dress. The Ghanaian actress did not tag Ezinne in them.
However, in a series of Instagram reels, Nana eventually responded. One of the posts said that the Nigerian designer was paid in full. According to their agreement, Ezinne lost all rights to the dress once Nana paid for it.
